Gorakh is a hill station and situated at the height of 1.7 km in the Kirthar Mountains.It is 94 km from Dadu ,and 74 km from bhan Saeedabad and 54 from Johi .It is also 423 km from Karachi .The Hill station is attracting point for entire country in general and for Karachi is in particular.As it is situated at mid point of Dadu and khuzdar . According to Nandu, an authority on Sanskrit, Gorakh is a Sanskrit word which means "shepherding of sheep, cow and goat, etc.Secondly ,Gurukh is balochi name for wolf .The wild life including Wolf was in plenty.Being area of Gurukhs it was named behind Gurukhs.Goragh is also called white in Balochi and the tip of hill is whitish ,may be it drived from that.But no authority is available on that .It is situated on one of the highest plateaus of Sindh, spread over 2,500 acres or 10 km of land.The area is part of the Kirthar Mountain Range that makes the border between Sindh and Baluchistan provinces and connecting Dau District of Sindh with Khuzdar District of Balochistan.
