Kotli, Azad Kashmir








K0tli the districts headquarter is at the distance of 114 kil0meters from Rawalpindi/Islamabad via Sehnsa, H0lar and Kahuta with an altitude of 627 meters ab0ve the sea level . It is linked with Mirpur by two metall0id roads, one via Rajdahani (90 kilometers) and the other via Charhoi. It is also directly linked with the Rawalaka0t via Tararkhal (82 kilometers). A PWD Rest h0use, T0urist Rest H0use at Sarda and middle standard hotels in the town provide accommodation facilities to the visitors. It is devel0ping in to an industrial city very rapidly. All the basic facilities of life are available in Kotli Town.

Kotli University is located in Kotli (UOK), formerly a constituency college of Azad Jammu and Kashmir University.  It became a university as a result of Presidential Ordinance passed in 2014

Bus and wagon transport services are also available. Some private hotels are also available according to the local standardAccording to Pakistan's 2017 census, Kotli had a total population of 46,907.

The city of Kotli can be traced back to the fifteenth century AD, when it was settled by a branch of the royal family of Raja Mangar Pal.  At that time Kohtali was known as meaning!  At the foot of the mountain, in the middle of the year, the name spread to Kotli.  Kotli remained independent until his subjugation to Ranjit Singh in 1819.

After the independence of Pakistan and India from the British Raj, in November 1947, the army of the newly formed state of India reached Kotli.  With the help of the native tribesmen, the Pak army retaliated.  Ever since it is under Pakistani control.
