Shandoor top





Located at an altitude of 12,500 feet (38,000 meters) above sea level, Shandor Top is famous for being the highest polo ground in the world.  It is sometimes called the roof of the world.  It is located in Ghazir District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan.  The version of the polo game played at the Shandor Polo Ground is considered clean by all.  It is also called freestyle polo. Shandor can be reached from Gilgit and Chitral.  It is about 197 197 km (122 miles) from Gilgit and 147 km (91 miles) from Chitral.  When coming to Shandor from Gilgit, one can see the charming valleys of Gahkoch, Gopis, Fandars and many beautiful lakes.  When you come from Chitral, you can see the beauty of Mastuja and Surlasp valleys. Shandor Polo Ground is naturally designed to be a polo ground.  Small hills surround the rectangular ground, where spectators can sit and enjoy the match.  The surrounding scenery and Lake Shandor make it even more beautiful.Shandor's beautiful polo ground is transformed into a tent city between July 7 and 9 each year due to the Shandor Polo Festival.  The polo match was played between the teams of Gilgit and Chitral.  The program attracts a large number of tourists and spectators from different parts of the country, especially from Hunza, Skardu and Chitral.  The Shandor Polo Ground is located at an altitude of 12,200 feet (3,700 m) and is difficult to play due to the low oxygen content.  It requires a lot of stability and athletes need to be very strong physically.  The match is always great as the cream players from Chitral and Gilgit take part in it.

Bhanbhor, Pakistan

Banbhore or Bhambore is an ancient city dating to the 1st century BC located in Sindh, Pakistan.  The city ruins lie on the N-5 National Highway, 65 km (40 mi) east of Karachi.
