Faisalabãd district actually stãrted as Lyallpur districť in 1904, and before thãt, it was a tehsil of Jhang ďistrict. This city was built by Rai Bahadur Bhunidas Sikka. During British rule in colonial India, the city of Lyallpur was nominated for services in the colonies of the Chenab Valley in honor of the then Lieutenant Governor of Punjab, Sir James Broadwood Lyall. The Government of Pakistan renamed the city from Lyallpur to Faisalabad ('City of Faisal') in honor of King Faisal of Saudi Arabia. In August 1947, after three decades of nationalist struggle, India and Pakistan gained independence. The British agreed to divide colonial India into two independent states - Pakistan with a Muslim majority and India with a Hindu majority. However, the governing authorities believe that more Muslims will remain in India than will be integrated into Pakistan. The split resulted in the mass displacement of an estimated 10 million people, making it the largest mass migration in human history. The Province of Bengal in India was divided into East Pakistan and West Bengal (India), and the Province of Punjab was divided into Punjab (West Pakistan) and Punjab, India. There were also divisions of the British Indian Army, Indian Civil Service, various administrative services, central treasury and railways. After the riots and local fighting, the British returned early, killing an estimated one million civilians, especially in the western part of the Punjab. Lyallpur, located in the region of Punjab province that became West Pakistan, was home to a large number of Hindus and Sikhs who migrated to India, while Muslim refugees from India settled in the district. Ramadan and Muharram are part of the city's religious observance due to the Muslim majority. The festivals of Chand Rat, Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha are celebrated and are national holidays. Bhanbhor, Pakistan

Banbhore or Bhambore is an ancient city dating to the 1st century BC located in Sindh, Pakistan.  The city ruins lie on the N-5 National Highway, 65 km (40 mi) east of Karachi.
