Attar Lake

  Attar Lake is a beautiful natural reservoir located at an altitude of 4000 meters above sea level.  The lake is surrounded by beautiful wildflowers and snow-capped peaks.Between Darkot and Ashkuman valleys, between the high mountains of Hindu Kush, Attar Lake is a magnificent lake about 4 km long.  In 1933, Francis Schumberg, an early British military traveler, discovered the author of "The Beach of Oaks and the Indus".  He described the idea of ​​Ashkuman as an extreme amphitheater, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and hanging glaciers.

Shimshal Valley

Jahlar Lake

One can experience the peace and natural beauty on visiting Jahlar lake and it creates a feeling of deep calm.  It is one of the least visited lakes of the valley mainly kinda hidden because of its location.  The lake is situated near the village Jahlar.  Its area under water is approximately 148 acres.  In winter,  Around 50 species of migratory birds come to the lake in winters from the cold plains of Siberia to to feed on the fish in the .  The water is strongly acidic and one can wash clothes with its water without any soup.  This lake does not contain any facilities like boating or fishing.

Kharfaq Lake

Kharfaq Lake is also called Riochug Tso in the local language.  It is located at an altitude of approx 13000 ft in the south-east of Kharfaq Village, 22 km short of Khaplu.  It's a fascinating lake that is surrounded by high mountains from all sides. Kharfaq Lake is a high altitude natural lake located in the Karakoram mountain range in Kharfaq, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan.  The best month for tourist to see the lake is the July and August.  The water of the lake is starting increasing in May and reached it maximum level in the middle of July.  In winter season the snow covers the whole lake in its whiteness and gives beautiful view.  Kharfaq is a small village of Ghanche district, almost 75 km away from skardu.  The lake is situated 2 hours walk away from the village.
