Rush Lake

Rush Lake is a high-altitude lake located in the village of Hopper in the valley of the former state of Gilgit-Baltistan.  Located at an altitude of <4,500 meters above sea level• Rush Lake (Urdu: رش جھیل) is a high altitude lake located near Nagar Pari, Peak in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan.  At 4,694 meters (15,400 feet), Rush is one of the highest alpine lakes in the world.  It is located about 15 km (9 miles) north of Mayar Peak and Spantik (Golden Peak) in Nagar Nagar.  It is the highest lake in Pakistan and the 27th highest lake in the world. <Rush Lake and Rush Peak reach Nagar and Valley Hopper via Hopper Glacier (Boleter Glacier) and Meyer Glacier• which rises from the Mayar and Fuprush peaks.  The track leading to Rush Lake offers views of Spantik, Malubit, Myar Peak, Fuprash Peak and Altar Sar •

Kotli, Azad Kashmir

Mangla Dam

Mangla Dam is a multipurpôse dam loćated on the Jhelum River in the Mirpur District of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan.  It is the ševenth largest ďam in the wôrld.  The village of mangla, which sits at the mouth of the dam, serves as its name.  In November 1961, the selected contractors of the project revealed.  It was announced that Bunny & Partners, a British engineering firm, would be serving as lead designers, engineers and inspectors for the construction of the dam (led by Geoffrey Bunny).  The project was initiated by a consortium known as the Mangla Dam Contractors, which consisted of eight American construction firms, managed by Guy F. Atkinson, based in southern San Francisco, California.   As part of the Indus Waters Treaty signed in 1960, India acquired the rights to the waters of the Ravi, Sutlej and Beas rivers, while in addition to Pakistan, the waters of the above three rivers in Pakistani territory and some financial compensation....

Ramkot Fort

Ramkot Fort is built on the site of an old Hindu Shiva temple.  This mountain peak is surrounded on three sides by the river Jhelum (ancient "Vistata").  Remains of the 5th and 9th centuries AD have been discovered near a temple during excavations.  In the sixteenth century AD, the Muslim rulers of Kashmir built several forts to protect their borders.  Sitting at the confluence of Ramkot, Jhelum and Poonch rivers is one of them.  The Sikh Maharaja of Kashmir further strengthened Ramkot.  <Ramkot Fort is located on the opposite side of ○Mirpur town and one has to cross Mangla Lake by boat to reach there•.  A 10-minute road trip from Mirpur leads to Sikhyan and the nearby Army Water Sports Club, from where boats are available to reach Ramkot Fort.  It takes 45 minutes to get there.   To get to the fort, you have to take a boat from Mangla Dam Water Sports Club, which after about 10 minutes ride, reaches the northern boundary of the reservoir...

Samahni Valley

Rawalakot (Pearl Valley)

Rawalakot is also known as Pearl Valley is located in the heart of district Poonch of AJK. This beautiful valley is famous for its breathtaking views and sceneries. It is a saucer shaped valley with an altitude of 1615m. It is situated at a distance of 80km from Islamabad. it is linked with Rawalpindi / Islamabad via Azad Pattan and Dhalkot and with Muzaffarabad via Kohallah by black top roads. Ganga Choti

Ganga Ch0ti is a peak near the t0wns of Sudhan Gali and Bani Minhasan located in Bagh District, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. Sùddhan Gali serves as a base camp for those interested in hiking / trekking to the nearby 3045 meters high mòuntain “Ganga Choti” .. Sudhan Gali

Suddhen Gali located at a height of 2134 meters, links Chikkar with District Hattian as well as with District Bagh.  This scenic spot also serves as a base camp for those interested in hiking / trekking to the nearby 3045 meters high mountain “Ganga Choti” .. Leepa Valley

Jehlam Valley

Jutiall is an advanced housing scheme in Gilgit, Pakistan, with a large population and a new city. Jutial is divided into different sectors and sub-sectors. Located in Gilgit-Baltistan,most of the valleys of Gilgit-Baltistan Jutial Nalla are with exceptionally thin mouths, yet a six-kilometer stroll along the stream through the valley of the dangerous aspect.
